Celebration of Appointment - Bishop Thomas J. Bickerton, New York Annual Conference, Cordially Invites You To The Celebration of Appointment for Rev. Dr. Alpher K. Sylvester, as Superintendent of the Connecticut District, Sunday, September 10th at 4pm. This celebration will be at Nichols United Methodist Church, 35 Shelton Road, Trumbull, CT. Town Wide Tag Sale - will take place on Saturday, September 16th at the Parsonage from 8:30am – 2:30pm. Gather up those unwanted things to donate to the FUMC. Contact Jill Bennett or Joanne Schilke to arrange a drop-off time.
Church Council - will meet Sunday, September 17th following worship. All chairs are required to be present. If you can’t attend please have a representative there for your committee. And all committees’ should be prepared to give an update.
Sunday School - Calling all children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends! The official day of this year’s Church School is Sunday, September 17th. What is Church School exactly? It is a bible story that connects to the Children’s Sermon, fun activities, learning how to pray and fellowship. Each student brings home a Children’s Worship Bulletin to remind them of the bible message for the week. So gather up the children and bring them to church on September 17th. Small Great Things Book Club - discussion will begin in September 28th at 7pm, in the Parsonage. This is a novel by Jodi Picoult, where she tackles the profoundly challenging yet essential concerns of our time: prejudice, race, and justice.
