Welcome Our Newly Activated Members – Sharon Hagelund, Kristan McLaughlin, and Tom Fisher, today following worship!  We have already seen so much participation from them!  We are blessed!

Thank You – to all who participated in the St. Vincent DePaul dinner…it was a success and you helped over 100 people come out of the cold for hot soup and cookies.  That soup was delicious!  Yum!  I would also like to thank our neighbors Mondo’s Pizza for supplying 10 pizzas, let them know how much you appreciate them when you visit!  Jill and Marsha you did an excellent job coordinating this special event.

Advent Study – begins today following fellowship…we will work right from the Bible and lectionary passages.  Do something spiritual to refresh and awaken your soul this Advent season as we explore Hope, Love, Joy, and Peace.

Trustee Committee – will be meeting, Wednesday, December 5th, 7pm at the Parsonage.  Please see Bill Collins for more details/questions.

Adath Israel – invites the community to join them December 5th at 5:30pm for the Hanukkah Community Candle Lighting followed by dinner.  Dinner is vegetarian and no-dairy.  Please RSVP if interested at (860) 346-4709.

United Methodist Women/Sew ‘n’ Sew ladies – will be meeting, Wednesday, December 12th, at the Green Room in Middletown at 12pm, for their holiday gathering.  Please see Rachel Titus for more information.

Finance Committee – will be meeting, Thursday, December 13th, 7pm at the Parsonage, to review where we stand with the New Consecration Stewardship campaign and to set bill paying priorities.  Please see Nancy Burton for more details/questions.

“It’s the most wonderful time of the year!” – or, is it? For those who find the Christmas season difficult for many reasons, the United Churches of Durham, First UMC of Middletown, and Middlefield federated Church will join together in hosting a Blue Christmas Service on December 16 at 4pm.  The name refers to the loneliness, sadness and grieving that people might experience during the holiday season – whether from negative memories, difficult losses, or from complicated personal relationships.  Please invite a friend in need of gentle care.  The service will be held at the United Churches of Durham, 228 Main Street, Durham, CT.

Holiday Cheer?– The FUMC is looking for ways to support children and families for the holidays.  If you have any ideas please see Pastor Barbara.

Coffee Hour - will be hosted by group Matthew on Sunday, December 9, 2018.  Please see Nancy Burton for details.

The Victorian Tea Party dazzled with several delicious courses and selections of finger foods and desserts. There was an assortment of teas to choose from. Not only that, attendees were also educated on the traditions and history of the Victorian Tea. We would like to that Marsha Judson, Dianne Johnson, and other volunteers who helped make the day so enjoyable. If you weren't able to attend...don't worry! Marsha and Dianne are throwing another tea party on Saturday, November 17th at 11:30am. It is only $20 a person, for a high quality experience. Please see Marsha Judson to sign up!
