We believe that serving others is a great way to celebrate the joy of a loving God who serves us in Christ. We have God-given gifts that we can offer in volunteer service to others in our church community, in our local community, and the world. These are all important "ministries" - using our gifts in service to God. Another important ministry is fellowship - helping people to meet one another, at regular events like "Perk at First."

Join projects, groups and missions.

Our volunteer ministries include our Sew 'n' Sew group, playing a lead or contributing role in our adult study groups, United Methodist Men or United Methodist Women groups, and children's ministries. We are also active in ministries through mission teams who offer support for building decent, affordable housing for those in need, disaster cleanups, food for the hungry, overseas missions and more - people dedicated to a specific goal to help communities locally or globally.

Be a part of our worship services.

In our worship services, we have opportunities for ushering, reading of scripture on Sunday mornings (serving as a lector), hosting fellowship hour, playing music or singing in the church choir, or helping with our child Sunday school classes.  Our "FirstMusic" series of performances by local musicians offer original music and unique performances that will lift the spirits of others and help us to fund important causes for peace and justice.

We can help you to build ministries.

Ministries can use our hands, our hearts, our minds, and other resources to help make God's love present and active in the world for people who need it very much. You don't have to feel that a ministry is a huge commitment - often it's the small things adding up from many people across time that can be the most important ministries. Best of all, you are never alone in ministries - you'll have lots of support and fellowship to make these experiences rewarding. We also invite you to explore new projects for your passions that we have yet to try.
