The Easter Flowers sign-up – sheet is now available. If you would like to sponsor one or more plants to decorate the altar on Easter, please fill out the sign-up sheet at the front table. Hyacinths, Tulips and Daffodils are $7.00 each, and Easter Lilies (8-in.) are $16.00 each. The deadline to sign-up and have your money in is April 5th, 2019!
 
Holy Week Services – 
  • Palm/Passion Sunday-April 14, The Elks ballroom
  • Maundy Thursday Service- will be held at the parsonage 221 Ridge Rd at 7pm
  • Good Friday Prayer Walk– 66 Tuttle Rd Middletown, CT at 10am
  • Easter Sunday – will be held jointly with South Congregational Church at 10am. Anyone wishing to sing should come for rehearsal in So Church fellowship hall, Wed April 16, @ 7pm and Easter Sunday at 9:00am.
 
A Lenten prayer chain – has begun! Participants can call in and listen to devotionals, and offer prayer requests. The number to dial to join the conference call is: 605-562-0400. When prompted to input an access code, dial: 6506260. Calls will take place on Tuesday and Thursday evenings at 7:00pm. If you are interest in leading a session, please leave your name and number on the sign-up sheet or contact Pastor Barbara.
 
Holy Habits – Has returned following worship. Please consider making this study part of your Lenten discipline.
 
Lay Servant Ministry and Preaching Courses – are coming in April and May! If you are interested in the process of preparing and delivering a sermon, consider attending: “Preaching in the United Methodist Church” on April 6th from 12:30pm-3:30pm and April 27th from 9:00am-3:30pm at Grace United Methodist Church in Southington. Also, the CT District Basic Lay Servant Ministry Course is being held on May 4th and May 17th from 10:00am-4:00pm at Hamden Plains UMC in Hamden for those who wish to serve as a Local Lay Servant in the United Methodist Church. Please see Megan Camp for registration information.
 
The next “Rebuild Puerto Rico” team – is now forming. The dates are 6/22/19-6/29/19. The cost is $650 per person, which includes airfare, lodging, meals, local transportation and travel insurance. If you are interested in this trip, or want to know more, please contact Jill Wilson, CT District Mission Chairperson, at (860) 690-1853. If you cannot make this trip, but would like to go in the Fall, please contact Jill as well.

Prayer Breakfast – presented by the New York Annual Conference United Methodist Men. The theme is “Receive Ye Your Youth”. The event will be held at Butler United Methodist Church, 39-20 Paulding Avenue in Bronx, NY on March 23, 2019 from 9:00am-12:00pm. A donation of $10 is requested. Reverend Dr. Allen N. Pinckney, Jr., Senior Pastor of Butler Memorial United Methodist Church will be attending as a guest speaker. For more information, contact Tom Fisher.

It is that time of year again! Daylight Savings Time begins tomorrow. This means that clocks will need to be turned FORWARD one hour. Please remember to do this before you go to bed tonight. If you forget, you will be an hour late for church. So please set a reminder for yourself to set your clocks forward. We look forward to seeing you on time tomorrow for worship!
