For many of the international residents who call OMSC home this year, the weather is already cooler than their climates at home. With 28 adults and 16 children in residence this year, we do not currently have enough winter clothing to go around. How can we help? By donating new or gently used winter coats, sweaters, hats, gloves, scarves, or money to purchase these items. Donations should be delivered prior to October 17th and OMSC will distribute winter clothing to the residents in the last two weeks of October. Please see Pastor Barbara for more information. We have some exciting news for FUMC! The Bishop of the New York Annual Conference, Thomas J. Bickerton is coming to visit us on Tuesday, October 30th. He will be blessing our land on the corner of Tuttle Rd and Newfield St in Middletown. Please come join us in welcoming him! More information will be provided once a time is announced. Meanwhile, please mark your calendars and invite people to attend. This is such an important moment for our church, and a great opportunity for us to showcase the hard work we are doing to grow our church and establish ourselves in the community. It is time for another book discussion! The book we are reading is called Same Kind of Different as Me by Ron Hall and Denver Moore. We will meet on October 25th, 7 p.m., at the Parsonage (221 Ridge Rd, Middletown) with Hartford UMC. We will discuss viewing the movie/dinner as a follow up. The book is available for purchase online, as well as in stores like Barnes and Noble and Walmart. Some copies are also available at local libraries. We look forward to seeing you and engaging in thought-provoking discussion!

World Communion Sunday – is TODAY. The World Communion Sunday offering funds graduate racial-ethnic World Communion Scholarships, with at least half of the annual amount reserved for ministries beyond the United States.
