Dear friends,
While Rev. Sylvester is on vacation, it falls to me to ask you to raise up prayers tomorrow morning for Rev. John Blossom. Here is the news the Cabinet has received from Bishop Bickerton:
"I write this evening with the sobering news that Rev. John Blossom has taken a turn for the worse in a Korean hospital this evening. He has digressed in his condition and there is an urgent need for prayer for John, his wife June Anne, their son Christopher.
"I have been in constant communication with Julia, Sungchan, & Alpher in Korea and am grateful for their care for John and the team that is attempting to fulfill as much of their agenda as possible. They are scheduled to return home on Tuesday.
"I have also worked with Pam today to make arrangements for June & Christopher to fly to Korea on Sunday to be with their loved one. They are longing to be with him in this critical time.
"We are very unclear about how to navigate the next steps so I have instructed Alpher, Julia, and Sungchan to make contact with the U.S. embassy to seek assistance and discover protocol for matters that we will be facing.
"Please surround this family with your thoughts and prayers as they walk through these very difficult days."
I know you will feel called to pray for John and his family tomorrow in church (if you read this in time). This is our gift, and this is our responsibility. Let us reach across time and space to surround them with our love; perhaps God will answer our prayers with a miracle!
With Christian love,
Tim Riss
