Open Hearts of FUMC

The American Cancer Society's Relay for Life of Greater Middletown was held on June 9th-10th at the Woodrow Wilson Middle School from 12:00 pm-12:00 pm. Our team, Open Hearts of First United Methodist Church was excitedly preparing for the big day and we had a fabulous turn out.

We sold Munson's chocolate bars prior to the event and also had some people donate to us for the cause. The day of the event we sold Christmas ornaments, comfort dolls, lap beads, Pandora style beads (leftover from last year), bears, and baked items. With the weather on our side, nice and sunny, and all the excitement, our team raised $2,884.52.

I would like to thank all of those who donated and supported out ream, as well as the Open Hearts of FUMC team members: Debbie Camp, Becky Godwin, Danyel Godwin, Barbara Hendershoot, Brian Lynn, Danyel Lynn, Rebecca Michaud, Joanne Schilke, Rachel Titus, Penny White, and Rita White-Michaud.

The 2012 relay season will continue until August 31st and then the 2013 relay reason will begin September 1st. If you would like to join us for the event, please speak to Becky Godwin or Rachel Titus so we can get you more details and signed up for the NEW relay season.
